FE candidate consolidation log (v1.2, independent reconstruction)
FE candidate consolidation log (v1.2, independent reconstruction)
The ten starting candidates remain represented by eight A-series cards. Independent reconstruction from the seven-document permitted canonical set finds no basis in that narrower evidence to propose a different grouping than the one already recorded for v1.1.
| Starting candidate | v1.2 card | Curator decision | Reason (from permitted canonical set only) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identity-capability separation | A01 | Retain | Theory doc treats this as one claim (Theory v0.1 claim 1) with one supporting observation (FE-008); no second candidate competes for the same ground in the permitted set. |
| Structured extraction and redesign | A02 | Retain | Theory doc treats this as one claim (Theory v0.1 claim 2) with its own outcome pattern (Observation 2) distinct from A01, A05, or A08. |
| Finite procedural-reasoning primitives | A03 | Merge with compositional grammar | The theory doc's Core Definitions pair "Primitive Reasoning Operation" with "Procedural Reasoning Grammar" as one composition relationship, and Observations 3 and 4 discuss vocabulary and composition together; the permitted set supplies no separate predicted effect for finiteness alone versus composition. |
| Compositional procedural-reasoning grammar | A03 | Merge with primitive vocabulary | Same definitional pairing; the permitted set does not describe grammar formation as a step independent of primitive identification. |
| Reasoning grammar separated from execution or coordination grammar | A04 | Retain | The theory doc names this as a distinct, still-open hypothesis (Hypothesis 3, Falsification Criteria, Open Questions) with its own predicted effect, separate from the primitive-vocabulary claim in A03. |
| Preserve observation, interpretation, uncertainty, and alternatives | A05 | Retain | Has its own governance rules (research-constitution.md Rule 3, Rules 10-11) and its own prediction (theory doc, Predictions) distinct from reassessment timing in A06. |
| Verification and reassessment triggers | A06 | Retain | The "Verify Before Closure" and "Add Reassessment Triggers" heuristics concern when a judgment is reopened, which is temporally distinct from how a statement is typed as observation versus interpretation in A05, even though the permitted set supplies no predicted effect or metric for A06 specifically. |
| Framework-specific provenance, frozen instruments, and certified inputs | A07 | Merge with identifiers and history | The permitted set (CONSTITUTION.md, Frozen Versions and Knowledge Promotion) states freeze and historical-preservation as one governance posture; it does not separately operationalize identifiers, digests, or certification, so no second mechanism can be distinguished from this evidence alone. |
| Canonical identifiers, supersession, and append-oriented history | A07 | Merge with provenance controls | Same reasoning; the permitted set does not supply a distinct supersession procedure separate from the freeze/preserve posture already covered by A07. |
| Characterization through test workflow | A08 | Retain | The theory doc's program definition and the research constitution's evidence-review sequence (Rules 8-9) describe a multi-stage flow that is referenced as a whole, distinct from any single stage (A01, A02, A03/A04) taken alone; no bundle-level interaction effect is supplied. |
Decisions and uncertainty
- No new candidate was added.
- No candidate was removed for weak evidence; A04, A06, A07, and A08 are retained as explicitly weak cards rather than repaired.
- This role's confirmation is weaker evidence than a true independent replication would be, because the merge logic for A03 and A07 in particular rests on definitional pairings and governance-section adjacency in the permitted documents, not on demonstrated extraction, normalization, or certification procedures, which this role was not permitted to read.
- No adjacent-method material or mapping hypothesis was consulted, consistent with the isolation protocol for this role.
- If a future role with access to the excluded experiment-protocol documents (FE-011A, FE-012A, FE-012B, and the framework-engineering/experiments architecture and schema files) finds that those documents separately test finiteness apart from composition, or separately test identifiers/digests apart from the freeze principle, the A03 and A07 merges here should be revisited; this role's permitted evidence cannot rule that out.
